Well…you guessed it! Back in Milwaukee again…but in the frigid Wisconsin cold. This competition, due to its sheer size, lasted two days (hence the name “Cubing Mania”), but I only participated in the first day. It was a nice way to celebrate the New Year with friends! We actually ended up in the same hotel (by complete coincidence), so I was glad to enjoy some company while eating some pretty good hotel breakfast (you can never go wrong with breakfast at any hotel!). In terms of the competition itself, I think that the cold outdoors snuck inside the ballroom. I didn’t get any new personal bests, but I did average better here in the 4x4 than in Evanston (when I got my first sub-60 single). Sadly, the Bucks were out of town, so our trip was pretty much limited to cubing (fine for single-day competitions, but takes forever when it lasts multiple days because of how long you have to wait for other people to compete). Still glad to get another 25 solves officially recorded and under my belt!
