EVANSTON FALL MINI C 2023

As the year comes to a close, I returned to Northwestern University one final time for the 2023 season, competing once again in the Tech Building! The “Evanston Fall” competition was split up into three different sections (or “Mini”-competitions) at different times of the day: Mini A (3x3, 2x2, and Skewb), Mini B (3x3, Megaminx, and Pyraminx), and finally, Mini C (3x3, 4x4, and 3x3 One-Handed—aka “OH”). Due to the very lenient cutoff time for the 3x3 One-Handed event, I decided to give it a go and sign up for Mini C! I ended up with a few standout solves, such as a 14.21 second single in the 3x3 and a new One-Handed best of 39.87 seconds! I have almost never practiced One-Handed so I was very pleased with this result despite not knowing any tips and tricks. I was also able to get a full one-handed average, in which I averaged 50.15 (blowing away my expectations of sub-60)! Although the 4x4 was one single round, I did not make it to the finals in the 3x3 or 3x3 One-Handed events. Time to hang up the cubes until I return to competing early next year.
