A bit bummed with this competition. The only events offered were the “silent” ones: 3BLD (3x3 Blindfolded), 4BLD (4x4 Blindfolded), 5BLD (5x5 Blindfolded), Multiblind (as many 3x3s as you can solve by raw memory or within an hour timeframe), and the Fewest Moves Challenge, which I had decided to give a second attempt at. The FMC is a three-attempt contest where each competitor gets an hour per attempt to come up with the most efficient solution to a given 3x3 scramble. Since scramble is given to competitors, doing the opposite (about 21 moves or so) is not allowed, but some people have found ways to solve the cube in 20 or as low as 16 moves. While I had a solution around 35 moves, I lost track of my solution and accidentally “deleted” a move, causing my entire second half of the solution to be incorrect. I’m really disappointed that I was so close to getting a successful solve—especially on my first try—but I will be back with more motivation than ever!
