For my second competition, we head up north to the historic Lambeau Field for the first competition in the Stadium Series! The competition was situated inside of the private suites in the stadium, so we were able to get a beautiful view of the stadium while competing. It was very cold—both outside and inside the building, but the spacious room made it a bit more comfortable. Although I am a diehard Bears fan (being from Chicago), I enjoyed being able to walk through Lambeau Field, especially when it wasn’t filled with tens of thousands of people. After the previous competition, I met some other people who were also from the Chicago area (in fact, two of my friends I met at the Windy City New Year competition were from towns neighboring mine!) and they also made the drive up north to compete! For this competition, I did the 3x3, 4x4, Skewb, and for the first time in competition, the 2x2 and Pyraminx. While I was unsuccessful in advancing to the next round in any events, I was able to make the cutoff in the 4x4 to get a full average. The nerve of competing that I felt at the previous competition were much less prevalent, and I felt much more confident; in fact, I managed to either get a new personal best single, average, or both in every single event I competed in! Hopefully I will soon be able to average sub-20 seconds in the 3x3 and get a sub-60 second time in the 4x4.
