While high school is in full swing, it’s quite fitting that I got to head down to UIUC for a competition! Although I’m still only a freshman, I figured that this would be a great opportunity to visit a college while doing something fun—I think I’ll probably be grateful for it when I’m older and busy with all sorts of college tours. After all, the journey really does begin now. Unfortunately, I haven’t had a lot of time to practice so I didn’t really improve at anything, but I had a great time getting to compete inside of Illini Union! I also saw the famous Alma Mater statue and got to meet some of the men’s & women’s track athletes which is pretty cool! Looking forward to hopefully competing at more college campuses in the future. I’d also love to come back to Champaign—especially on a weekday when classes are in swing or on football game nights!
